1. Do it Yourself

For practices accustomed to billing, a reference guide is available to understand the billing codes for neuromodulation devices. The codes were researched and validated by the Wells Group, an independent lobbyist firm in Washington DC. While the codes are deemed the most accurate for the current reimbursement landscape, there are currently no specific codes for ANY Percutaneous Nerve Field Stimulator devices on the market. Speranza has submitted an application for a unique HCPCS Code for the device and hopes to learn about CMS' recommendations in mid-2021.


2. Preauthorization

Send a patient referral to our dedicated support services team for prior authorization. Our support team will work with the insurance carrier on behalf of the patient to gain approval for S.T.Genesis.

Our support service team offers:

  • Clinical support including letters of medical necessity and patient history
  • Communication back to the provider on approvals to then order S.T.Genesis
  • Appeals guidance for denied reimbursement

3. Specialty Pharmacy Services

If a provider is not interested in purchasing S.T.Genesis directly and/or obtaining reimbursement for the device, our team can triage the patient referral into a network of specialty pharmacies that are experienced in opioid addiction. The pharmacy will bill the insurance carrier directly and will send the device to the treatment center for patient administration.

  • No need for the provider to purchase S.T.Genesis directly
  • Pharmacy bills the insurance carrier directly for S.T.Genesis
  • Pharmacy will send the device to the treatment center for patient administration
  • Provider can still bill for stand alone facility codes as well as professional fees
