One case study observed a 58-year-old man who entered a substance abuse treatment program with tremors, joint pain, and stomach cramps. He was prescribed opioids for the treatment of stage 2 prostate cancer and had his dosage titrated to resolve his growing dependence. When he stopped taking the medication, his withdrawal symptoms were severe.
When tested by a physician, his COWS score of 22 indicated moderate withdrawal symptoms that could be eased with S.T. Genesis.
